Alive Check is designed to:
- Monitor user well-being through liveness checks
- Notify emergency contacts when users become unresponsive
- Securely share encrypted files with designated contacts
The service must not be used for any purpose other than its intended function.
2. Prohibited Uses
You may NOT use Alive Check to:
2.1 Illegal Activities
- Conduct any illegal activity
- Store or share illegal content
- Facilitate fraud, money laundering, or financial crimes
- Violate intellectual property rights
2.2 Harmful Content
- Store malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Share content depicting violence, abuse, or exploitation
- Distribute hate speech or discriminatory content
- Share content that promotes self-harm
2.3 Harassment and Abuse
- Harass, stalk, or threaten others
- Add emergency contacts without their knowledge or consent
- Use the service to manipulate or coerce others
- Send unwanted or spam communications through the service
2.4 System Abuse
- Attempt to bypass security measures
- Access accounts or data belonging to others
- Interfere with service availability for other users
- Automated scraping or data collection
- Reverse engineer or decompile the application
- Create multiple accounts to evade restrictions
2.5 Misrepresentation
- Impersonate others
- Provide false information during registration
- Create fraudulent emergency scenarios
- Abuse the "confirm death" feature for non-genuine situations
3. Content Guidelines
3.1 Your Files
You may upload files that:
- You own or have rights to share
- Contain lawful content
- Are intended for legitimate estate planning or emergency purposes
3.2 Messages
Messages you configure (such as dead transition messages) must:
- Be respectful and appropriate
- Not contain threats or harassment
- Not include malicious links or code
4. Emergency Contact Responsibilities
When adding emergency contacts, you must:
- Have their consent to add them
- Inform them about the service and what they may receive
- Provide accurate contact information
- Respect their decision if they decline
5. Security Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your credentials secure
- Reporting suspected unauthorized access
- Using strong, unique passwords
- Protecting your seed phrase
- Not sharing your PIN or duress PIN
6. Resource Usage
Fair use limits apply:
- Reasonable file storage (abuse may result in restrictions)
- Reasonable API usage
- Not overloading notification systems
7. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of AUP violations, report them through the support form in your account settings, or visit https://alivecheck.me/about
Include:
- Description of the violation
- Any relevant evidence
- Your contact information (optional, for follow-up)
Reports are handled confidentially.
8. Enforcement
8.1 Investigation
We may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action.
8.2 Consequences
Violations may result in:
- Warning notice
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent account termination
- Report to law enforcement (for illegal activity)
